WAZEE PENTHOUSE
RESIDENTIAL: RENOVATION
DENVER | CO
COMPLETED 2018
THIS TWO-STORY, INDUSTRIAL LOFT SITS WITHIN THE WAZEE WIRE WORKS BUILDING IN DENVER'S LODO NEIGHBORHOOD. THIS PROJECT AIMED TO ELEVATE THE INTERIOR OF THE UNIT AFTER TEARING IT DOWN TO THE STUDS. TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE EXPOSED AND GENUINE MATERIALS, OUR MAIN CHARGE WAS TO ENLIVEN THE HISTORIC SPACE WITH AN AIM AT REDUCTION RATHER THAN COMPLEXITY. THIS LONG UNIT SITS BETWEEN TWO OTHERS, LIMITING THE GLAZING AND NATURAL LIGHT TO ITS TWO, SHORTEST WALLS. BY REMOVING THE MAJORITY OF NON-STRUCTURAL WALLS AND UTILIZING THE HIGH CEILINGS, THE BEAUTY IN THE PROJECT COMES FROM ITS CONSTRAINED AND CALCULATED MATERIAL PALETTE REFLECTED IN THE SELECTIVELY DELICATE INTERVENTIONS.
